Film Line Up Announcement???

Ok, so here's the deal.....either the date was pushed back or there was a misunderstanding on my part (probably the later), but the official line-up announcement for the festival is not until next Tuesday April 3rd. However, I have the tentative line-up for the Science Fiction section, which I will post below. Please keep in mind that this is not the official line-up (i.e. things may have shifted or may shift when the official line up is announced, they are trying to coordinate over 200 films!), but it should be fairly accurate. I will note the official info next week to let you know if anything has changed.

SciFi Section of the festival will take place on Friday April 27th, Saturday April 28th, Sunday April 29th.
  • Once More with Feeling, Buffy Sing-a-long – 10pm Friday, 10pm Saturday
  • Serenity – 5:45pm Saturday, 7:15pm Sunday
  • Done the Impossible – 8pm Saturday, 9:30pm Sunday
  • Fantastic Fan Films – Chad Vader, Mosquito, and Star Trek vs Batman – Noon Saturday, 5pm Sunday
  • Outta This World - SciFi-ish Shorts including Ambassador’s Day, DVD, Microgravity, The Signal, They’re Made out of Meat – 4pm Saturday, 1:45pm Sunday
  • First on the Moon – 3:45pm Saturday, 3:30pm Sunday
  • A Great Disturbance – 2:15pm Saturday, Noon Sunday

Descriptions of all of these films will be listed at www.indyfilmfest.org, however I have screened almost all of them and will post my non-spoiler thoughts about them and a brief description here over the next few days. I promise to have you completely informed before tickets go on sale on April 9th!

And that makes us mighty!

This will be our final announcement before the entire line up is announced on Wednesday 3/28. And continuing with our Joss-themed announcements…..

Done the Impossible, the documentary made by Browncoats about Browncoats, will be showing twice over our great SciFi-packed weekend! I am so happy to have this film show at our event. Finally, I can say to my friends “See! I’m not the only one!”

Full line-up announcement on Wednesday. See you then!

Shiny!

I am pleased to announce that we will also be showing Serenity at this festival. And not just once, but twice!!! Once on Saturday 4/28 and once on Sunday 4/29. Official times will be announced on 3/28 along with everything else! And don't forget, ticket sales begin 4/9.

And, yes, you can go to see it twice. I know I will. I miss my Big Damn Heroes and I can't wait to watch them in the theatre once again. Shindig anyone??

Stay tuned for more details, as we continue with more Joss-obsessed festvial announcements!

Welcome!

Welcome to the Blog for the Science Fiction Section of the Indianapolis International Film Festival

We will use this blog to give you lots of great info about the amazing SciFi films we have coming to this event.

The official announcement of the entire line-up of films will not be until March 28th, but I will be announcing several films here before that date….so keep checking back for more info.

Our first announcement is a big one.

Every single night, the same arrangement…
You’ve been singing alone for years, and now you will finally have the opportunity to join other Buffy fans in a Once More With Feeling Sing-a-Long. The tour of the Buffy Sing-a-long will be making a stop in Indianapolis on the weekend of April 28th and 29th. Tentative plans are for a Friday and Saturday night showing. Lots of juicy details about this event are at
www.buffysings.com, including some great youtube clips from previous events. And yes, we get to publicly yell at Dawn. Finally!

As with all of the films in the festival, the Buffy Sing-a-long is only $10.
Want to reserve a spot?? You can buy tickets to reserve your spot beginning on April 9th.

The festival offers some great ticket packages. All of the films will be announced by April 9th, so you will know which package will work for you.

1 ticket is $10
10 tickets for $75
These bundles are great because not only do you get a discount, but you can use them for any film at the festival (not just the SciFi films) and you can share with your friends (i.e. if you and your friend want to go to 5 films each, you can buy the 10 ticket bundle and share). Detailed info can be found at:
http://indyfilmfest.org/shop.html. Remember, these tickets are not on sale and spots cannot be reserved until April 9th.

I promise that lots of more details and information will be posted in the weeks to come, however if you have immediate questions please post them here. If you have private questions, email Ellen at
ellenleonard@hotmail.com. For more info about the rest of the festival (for those of us interested in more than just SciFi), www.indyfilmfest.org.

Countdown to signing Buffy: 42 days
Ok, I’m already signing. Should I go out and fight the fight?
